You get home from the school run or shopping, your brain feels fried, and before you know it; you’re scrolling.
You open Instagram for “just a sec” and suddenly, you are 20 minutes deep in dog videos and completely off track.

You are not lazy. You are overstimulated. Your nervous system is crying out for a reset. So instead of trying to shame yourself into stopping, let’s learn how to stop scrolling and actually reset your energy with intention.
Here's my five steps to stop scrolling after the school run
Step 1: Give Yourself a Planned 10-Minute Reset
Set a timer. Walk, breathe, journal, or even scroll — but do it with a clear end time. This is not procrastination; this is nervous system regulation.
Step 2: Curate Your Feed
If you do scroll, make it productive. Only follow people who lift you up. Mute anyone who drains you; even me, if you need to.
“You are not lazy, you are overstimulated. Stop scrolling and start regulating instead.”
Step 3: Brain Dump Everything
Once the timer ends, grab a notepad and write down everything in your head. This clears space and calms your system.
Step 4: Highlight What Actually Matters
Not all tasks are equal. Choose what truly needs doing today. That is where you start.
Step 5: Start Small and Trick Your Brain
Pick the easiest task or the hardest one. Set a 2-minute timer and just begin. The 1% shift is all it takes
You do not need to stop scrolling through willpower alone. You need a plan, a pause, and a reset. When you give yourself that, you step back into power.
